RESEARCH
POSITION: Research Analyst, FinancialsDEPARTMENT: Research
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for conducting fundamental research, developing insight into future stock performance and issuing well-supported, accurate recommendations to the firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Efficiently and aggressively develop knowledge, contacts and, ultimately, insight into industry and company fundamentals.
- Identify and monitor the key issues that will drive each stock, seeking to maintain an edge, and synthesize your insights along with modeling and valuation work to develop stock recommendations.
- Leverage RCM’s Grassroots market research arm and develop other non-conventional data sources and analytical methods to obtain non-consensus insights.
- Provide timely and concise communications on your recommendations to RCM’s platform. Develop strong working relationships with PMs and become an effective advocate of your ideas.
- Become an integral member of the Financial Services team, one of five research sector teams at RCM. Participate in a wide-range of regularly scheduled meetings to review industry sector fundamentals and stock picks.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and employee information.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 years experience researching and recommending stocks within Financial Services sector. Strong preference for buy-side and Capital Markets sector experience. Strong working knowledge of microeconomics, finance, and accounting.
- Strong academic credentials, with MBA and CFA highly preferred.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed fundamental analysis and reputation for innovative thinking.
- Proven stock-picking ability.
- Exceptional business acumen and ability to develop peer-to-peer relationship with company senior management teams
- Ability to work well in a team and build strong personal relationships.
- Extremely hard-working, high integrity and ambitious.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SYSTEMATIC INVESTMENT GROUP
POSITION: Portfolio Manager and Analyst for the US Systematic Equities TeamDEPARTMENT: Systematic Investment Group
SUMMARY: RCM, a company of Allianz Global Investors, is seeking a Portfolio Manager and Analyst to expand its US Systematic Equities Team in San Francisco. The Systematic Equities Team specializes in managing and developing products that use an integrated investment process which includes both quantitative and fundamental research. The main investment strategy uses screening for initial idea generation, but the rest is accomplished by rigorous fundamental research, equity valuation work, and active stock selection decision making by the PM’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, and work with quantitative Analysts in improving ranking models and equity valuation models
- Work with fundamental Analysts (internal and external)
- Conduct research as a generalist Analyst
- Make stock selection recommendations
- Manage client portfolios
- Assist in marketing and sales efforts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ideal candidate will have quantitative research experience and portfolio management experience using fundamental research
- Minimum 10 years equity investment experience of which at least 5 years of experience in equity quantitative research
- Experience in using both quantitative research and fundamental research based stock picking a plus
- Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree a plus
- CFA charter-holder or CFA candidate will be a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to describe complex methods/processes in a simple and brief manner
- Detail oriented
- Commitment to provide excellent quality work in a team environment
- Flexible and efficient time management skills to conduct/monitor various projects/processes
- Sense of urgency and service-orientation toward all related parties
- Ability to add value by using creativity and independent thinking
